City’s Mobile Office goes to Athlone, Gugulethu and Steurhof

Next week, the City of Cape Town’s Mobile Office will be taking municipal services to Athlone, Gugulethu and Steurhof. International Ombuds Day will also take place in Athlone. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.  

The details are as follows:

·       Wednesday, 11 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at the Dulcie September Main Hall, Cnr. Protea and Eland Streets, Athlone.

·       Thursday, 12 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at the Gugulethu Community Hall, NY50, Gugulethu.

·       Thursday, 12 October 2023, from 10:00 to 13:00 at the Dulcie September Minor Hall, Cnr. Protea and Eland Streets, Athlone.

·       Friday, 13 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at the Steurhof Community Hall, Cnr. Mimosa and Viooltjie Streets, Steurhof.

Athlone residents can also expect to meet and engage with the City Ombudsman, Vusumzi Magwebu, Western Cape Police Ombudsman, General Oswald Reddy and the Director of the Office of the Consumer Protector, Western Cape Branch, Advocate Ashley Searle on the Thursday, 12 October 2023, visit. City departments and industry regulatory bodies will host information tables to provide advice and assist members of the public to lodge complaints.

In all the areas to be visited next week, the City's Customer Relations Department's mobile team will assist residents with logging queries and service requests electronically. Customers can engage with the City in a wide range of non-emergency enquiries such as rates, sewerage, electricity, water, refuse collections, and all other account enquiries.

'The City's mobile office team has been very effective in resolving long outstanding queries for residents. We are committed to bringing services closer to residents and ask that those who wish to make use of the services to remember to bring along their ID or municipal accounts to help ease the process,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
